Pilaf

Whats in the pot ? Chopped assortment of veggies, washed rice, my usual - two slit chillies, a small blob of ginger-garlic paste, a pinch of asafoetida powder, salt to taste and fresh cilantro leaves. Fill the rice cooker with water till it skims the top of the medley of stuff in the cooker. Cook!

Heat olive oil in a pan, fry slightly crushed cinnamon sticks, cloves, cardamom, cashews  and a bay leaf. Mix it in with the rice. Done done done! Serve with your choice of curry or raita.

The recipes I post in this blog are quick and easy recipes that Kamikazi and I love. They are super easy to make, not at all complicated and anyone can make them. No one wants to spend most of their time in the kitchen, especially when they can spend some quality time with their PS3 and/or shoes. As I mentioned earlier, when it comes to food I am the short-cut queen!

Being Earth week, I switched to environmental friendly products and cleaners, did not switch the lights on till it was dark out and unplugged all the appliances for two hours. I plan to continue with this in the future, a little loving for Mother Earth will do a lot of good for us and our future generations to come. I have been a vegetarian for 4 months now (yay!), have been using animal cruelty free products and feeling really good about doing the right thing. So its a win-win situation really. What did you guys do in honor of Earth Day?

This weekend is looking exceptionally sunny and beautiful. Time for some fun! Have a great weekend you guys!
