I love mushrooms. So I used them to make myself a sandwich this morning and declared myself off food for the rest of the day. I have enough calories in me to last me a lifetime of 12 hours. After that I am off to sleep. And the cycle continues. To make this delicious piece of morsel you will need butter, chopped onion, minced garlic and fresh mushrooms. I also used a veggie patty in my sandwich simply because its a good idea.
Melt butter in pan and fry the onions till translucent. Add mushrooms and minced garlic. Sauté. I can't even begin to describe how gorgeous it smells when the mushrooms start to cook. Add salt and pepper to taste. Prepare patty according to the instructions on the packet. I usually toast the bread slices in the toaster oven with a slice of sharp cheddar cheese on one slice for a total of two minutes. Spread a generous amount of mushrooms on the cheese, layer with the veggie patty and the second slice of toasted bread and flip. Now that you have flipped it, its right side up. Enjoy with a tall glass of your favorite chilled drink!
